About

Originally presented live on April 3rd, 2026, this one hour training will provide clinicians with a modern, trauma-informed, strengths-based framework for addressing executive function challenges. Executive function isn't just a skill—it's about connection. Learn to work with client resistance to bridge the gap from "can't" to "can." As practitioners, we often approach Executive Function (EF) as a series of logistical hurdles to be cleared with planners, timers, and checklists. But when a client meets these tools with resistance, the skills-based approach falls apart. This workshop is designed for therapists who want to learn how to support their most complex and resistant clients with EF. We will explore the vital link between cognitive skill-building and emotional connection, shifting the focus from compliance to collaboration. What We Will Cover: The Anatomy of Resistance: Why executive dysfunction is often a protective emotional response rather than a lack of willpower. Bridging the Gap: Practical techniques to help clients transition from a state of "can't" (what we call resistance) to a state of "can." Working With the "Why": Using the client's resistance as a roadmap for their specific connection & EF needs. Who is this for? This session is ideal for mental health professionals working with neurodivergent people and others who struggle with executive function, who are tired of the "tug-of-war" and are looking for a more empathic, effective way to support their clients' growth. Licensed clinicians can receive 1 CE. You must purchase the CE track and complete the assessment to receive the CE.
